Information for Prospective Students

The Geometry/Topology group has a very active graduate program. There is constant interaction between faculty and students, and we are very proud of the accomplishments of our past students. Our current and past students have worked in many areas of low-dimensional topology and geometry including:

  • 3- and 4-Dimensional Topology and Geometry
  • Gauge Theory
  • Geometric Analysis
  • Geometric Variational Problems
  • Knot Theory and its Invariants
  • Mapping Class Groups
  • Symplectic Topology
  • Contact Topology
  • G2 Geometry

We welcome inquiries and applications from students interested in the possibility of graduate work with our group. If you are interested, please contact one of our faculty members, and also the Department's Director of Graduate Studies. An overview of the program, including requirements for admission, can be found here. Application may be made online.
