The Hodge Conjecture, one of the seven Millennium Prize problems, provides a compelling description of the interaction between the topological, analytic, and algebraic structure of a smooth projective variety. In this talk, I will give a gentle introduction to the Hodge Conjecture and describe work related to and inspired by the Conjecture. (The talk will be followed by a 30-minute meet-and-greet.)
