About Me
I am an Assistant Professor in the Michigan State University Department of Mathematics.
I received my Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a minor in Physics and am originally from Arlington Heights, IL. I recieved my Ph.D in Mathematics from the University of California, Los Angeles in June of 2015 under the direction of Dimitri Shlyakhtenko. I spent three years at the University of California, Berkeley as an NSF Postdoctoral Fellow working with Dan-Virgil Voiculescu. I spent one year at Vanderbilt University as a Jones Assistant Professor.
I am interested in Operator Algebras and Free Probability usually in the context of Type III von Neumann algebras.
My non-mathematical interests include art, board games, guitar, bicycling, my dog Kramer, and (of course) my wife Cheryl whom I married on July 19th, 2013.
