Math department to host Michigan Number Theory Day

The Department of Mathematics will host Michigan Number Theory Day on Saturday, Oct. 3. The event will take place in Wells Hall on the campus of Michigan State University.

Michigan Number Theory Day features four speakers who are leading the way in areas of research that align with the interests of local number theorists. The speakers for the October event include Evangelia Gazaki of the University of Virginia, Daniel Le of Purdue University, Jonathan Love of the University of Michigan, and Stefan Patrikis of The Ohio State University.

Originating in 2025, Michigan Number Theory Day is a series of conferences that take place once a semester and alternate locations between MSU and the University of Michigan. The purpose of the series, which is supported by a National Science Foundation grant, is to promote interaction and collaboration between the number theory groups in the departments of the two universities.
