MSU Trustees honor five Math students for academic excellence

Three hundred and fifteen Michigan State University graduates accomplished something many students dream of — a perfect college GPA. Among the honorees, five are from the Department of Mathematics.

During its April 10 meeting, the MSU Board of Trustees presented the 315 graduating seniors with the Board of Trustees’ Award, recognizing their achievement of the highest scholastic average one can receive: a 4.0 GPA.

The students honored for this academic achievement include:

  • Haley R. Breuker, who earned a bachelor’s in actuarial science from the College of Natural Science, is a member of the Honors College from Whitehall, Michigan.
  • Robert Cesario, who earned a bachelor’s in physics from the College of Natural Science and in advanced mathematics from the College of Natural Science, is a member of the Honors College from Ada, Michigan.
  • Juyuan Huang, who earned a bachelor’s in mathematics from the College of Natural Science, is a member of the Honors College from Guangzhou, China.
  • Peter M. Oatney, who earned a bachelor’s in mathematics-secondary education from the College of Natural Science and is from Canton, Michigan.
  • Griffin J. Woodbury, who earned a bachelor’s in mathematics from the College of Natural Science and is from East Lansing, Michigan.

Along with the board recognition, students were acknowledged during MSU spring commencement ceremonies.
